Field Report: EAA Gardner fly-in

Heavy rain pounded the Gardner airport on Friday and into Saturday early morning.  Then a window of dry weather appeared from mid-morning through early evening before raining heavily again Saturday night.

This convenient slot of decent conditions encouraged about two dozen mostly local pilots to fly in their wonderful birds.  The dry roads even encouraged me to exercise my British oil-leaker.  Howard was there with his ’32 pick-em-up.  Grumpy stopped by with his brother Neal.  Shortly thereafter, Doc and his bride Shirley made the scene.  Then John’s better half, Jodi, and Mary, John’s mom, arrived.  We all hung out in John’s hanger swapping stories and describing our assorted ailments, occasionally with too much detail.

What a nice low key, small crowd aviation gathering.
