Cory 32 Roadster Update Sept 2011

Thought I’d send out some progress photos of the car…..

I modified the license plate frame I got from Baxter. I welded the upper halves and lower halves together, and modified the one (of two) remaining trim caps to make two of them to hide the slip joints on the side.

The seat is wrapped up (my part at least) and is mounted in the car. I started with a pattern from Swander and I narrowed it slightly and shortened the back slightly also. It has wood inserts that will be upholstered for the back and bottom too. The back mounts with two angled pins at the top, and is fastened by two bolts at the bottom. The bottom will be wedged in at the rear under the back cushion, and the front has two pins that go into the seat frame. To top it off, Comfort Felt & Foam cut the foam profiles and shipped them to me. The foam still needs to be radius’d in the front corners, and radius’d across the back to match the deck, but I’ll let who ever upholsters the car that care of that. The seat sits great, very comfortable, and has a lot of leg room.

John Jackson from NotStock Photography was in town this past weekend to do engagement photos. While he was here, he took some photos of the car.

Next up is chopping an original style top, then the body is coming off for the last time before paint.
